Acidosis - a common widespread disease
Most of us have heard of acidosis at some point, but
what exactly is behind it?
And what happens when the body becomes too acidic?
Why is this even a problem?
And what can we do about it to improve our well-being?
Here is everything you need to know to understand acidosis and banish it from your life.
1. What is acidosis?
Acidosis is basically about the pH level in your body, or more precisely in your blood. The body needs a slightly alkaline pH value of around 7.35 to 7.45 for its normal functions.

If this value falls and the body becomes increasingly too acidic, this is known as acidosis or hyperacidity. Acidosis is therefore not a sudden illness, but a slow development that occurs over a longer period of time.
The body has a sophisticated system to regulate the pH value in the blood. However, if the load becomes too great, it becomes more difficult for the body to maintain the correct pH value.
The consequences can affect cells, organs and the immune system.
PS: Incidentally, the many lemon slices on the cover of this journal - although very sour in flavour - are one of the best things you can eat and drink for an alkaline pH value. Lemon water works wonders in various areas: PH level in blood, stomach activity, kidney flushing.
2. How do I get acidosis?
There are many ways the body can get into an acidic state. These are the most common causes:
The type of diet

Animal products (meat, dairy products, eggs), as well as refined sugar, white flour and artificial additives can acidify the body. These foods produce acids in the metabolism, which the body must either neutralise or excrete. If this mechanism is overloaded, the pH value remains too low.
Stress

Our body reacts to stress with increased cortisol production, a hormone that puts the body into flight mode. This process consumes a lot of energy and at the same time leads to an increase in acid formation. In the long term, chronic stress can therefore lead to acidosis.
Too little exercise

A sedentary lifestyle favours the accumulation of acids in the body. Regular exercise helps to boost the metabolism and get rid of excess acids through sweat or excretion in the kidneys. Those who do little exercise restrict this mechanism.
Poor breathing

Deep breathing is not only good for the oxygen balance, but also for CO₂ regulation in the body. Shallow breathing leads to too much carbon dioxide remaining in the body, which pulls the pH down.
Dehydration (lack of fluids)

Dehydration is an often overlooked factor in the development of acidosis (75% of all people are estimated to be dehydrated). If you drink too little, the excretion of acids via the kidneys and urine is impaired. Water plays a key role in buffering acids and neutralising excess acids in the body.
Medication and diseases

Certain medications, such as diuretics and cortisone, can disrupt the acid-base balance. Kidney problems or liver disease can also cause the body to have difficulty excreting excess acids.
These are all very commonplace things that often go hand in hand with our normal lives. As commonplace as they are, we can easily eliminate them from our everyday lives. Read for yourself what over-acidifying everyday habits lead to and how little it takes to change them.
3. What causes acidosis?

The consequences of chronic, i.e. persistent, acidosis are manifold and affect not only your pH value, but also your health on various levels:
Muscle pain and joint problems
If the body is too acidic, crystals of uric acid are deposited in the joints, which can lead to gout. Muscle function is also impaired, leading to more frequent muscle tension and pain.
Weakening of the immune system
A pH value that is too low inhibits your body's defences. The body becomes more susceptible to infections and inflammatory diseases. It also increases the risk of chronic diseases such as arthritis, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
Digestive problems
An over-acidified diet can lead to indigestion, as the stomach produces excess acids. This can favour reflux or even stomach ulcers.
Increased inflammation in the body
Too much acid promotes inflammatory processes in the body. This inflammation is the cause of many chronic diseases and can slow down the healing of injuries or infections.
Stressed kidneys and liver
The kidneys in particular suffer from chronic acidosis, as they are responsible for filtering excess acids from the body. If they are overloaded, this can lead to kidney stones or reduced kidney function.
The liver, which plays a central role in detoxification, is also put under additional strain by hyperacidity. With excessive acid build-up, the liver has to work harder to detoxify the body, which can lead to liver disease.
Exhaustion and tiredness
An acidic environment in the body can lead to energy bottlenecks. Your cells work more slowly and you often feel tired and exhausted. This can be related to poor blood supply and inefficient oxygen uptake.
4. How can I eliminate acidosis or prevent it in the first place?
Fortunately, there are many ways you can avoid or eliminate acidosis. Here are some simple and effective measures:
Drink water

Water helps your body to eliminate waste products and promotes pH regulation.
Look for water with a pH value between 5.8 and 7.8. A preference for the advertised alkaline water with a pH value of 8 and more is a widespread misconception that is used industrially and is not good for the entire digestive tract.
My recommendation: Make water your everyday drink and drink enough of the right water. Take a look at the little super thing for the tap, the SPRING swirler, and also the H2-CellPower bottle for all-round cell protection from me. If you want the water to be particularly good for your kidneys, take a look at the particularly long-lasting activated carbon filter. These utensils will make it easy for you to drink simple water - it will taste great and make you want more.
Drink herbal teas

Drink deacidifying herbal and alkaline teas, which can help you stabilise your pH value.
Drinking herbal teas is an excellent everyday habit as a flavoured drink alongside water.
My recommendation: nettle, dandelion, willow bark, rosemary, horsetail, camomile, ginger, peppermint, thyme, burdock root. Some herbs deacidify directly, others support the kidneys and liver. Simply mix your favourite herbs from the herb shop. Together with the SPRING swirling water, the tea becomes a pleasure and health promoter in many areas.
More exercise

Regular exercise supports acid excretion through sweat and helps to keep the pH value in a healthy range.
This can be sport, yoga or dancing.
My recommendation: make it a point to go for a brisk walk for 1 hour every day, you can do this anywhere - just not in the busy after-work traffic, but quietly and with fresh air. You will also breathe more deeply and slowly and reduce stress, killing three birds with one stone.
Change and deepen your breathing

Make sure you breathe deeply and slowly. This not only promotes oxygen uptake, but also helps to
carbon dioxide and stabilise the body's pH value.
My recommendation: Either you take my walking recommendation, then you have improved your movement and breathing together, with even more positive effects. Or you can do some specific breathing exercises. These are used in meditation and yoga, for example.
Change your diet

A balanced diet is of course essential in order to achieve long-term balance.
Make sure you eat plenty of alkaline-forming foods such as fruit, vegetables, wholegrain products, nuts and seeds. These foods help your body to neutralise excess acids. Avoid eating meat, dairy products, eggs, fats and processed foods.
My recommendation: A vegetarian, wholefood, colourful and fresh lifestyle with only the occasional dairy product or egg.
Stress management

More serenity and less stress is also important to avoid hyperacidity.
My recommendation: Here again, walking comes into play. I can also recommend techniques such as meditation, yoga and breathing exercises.
A relaxing bath can also help to lower stress levels and reduce acid production in the body - if you lie down in SPRING water, it will give you additional support. As the largest organ, the skin absorbs the oxygen from the swirling water and ensures a balanced environment.
The H2-CellPower bottle with its frequencies also ensures regeneration and inner serenity and is a wonderful everyday companion for a serene life.
5. Conclusion
Acidosis is a widespread but often underestimated problem that creeps into our everyday lives in many ways. Diet, stress, lack of exercise, lack of fluids and poor breathing can throw our bodies out of balance and lead to long-term acidosis.
But with a few changes in everyday habits, such as
drinking water and herbal teas,
moving and
breathing,
a colourful, wholesome vegetarian diet and
more serenity
you will be on your way to a healthier and more balanced life and won't give acidosis a chance.
Make it easy for yourself: start with something that is easy for you and then expand your new habits. You'll notice the difference and won't want it any other way.
